Question

Yay, free money! How much can I actually get from individual college grants?

Answer

For the 2012-2013 academic year, there are some established grant maximums.  The Pell Grant, which many students receive annually, can yield up to  $5,550 per year for individual grant recipients.  Additionally, the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), which is given to those with great financial need, currently has a yearly maximum award of $4,000.
