Question

I know I have to start paying back my student loans a little while after I finish school. What is the time frame for this?

Answer

This is important to know.  With many loans, for example, the Stafford loans, students have a "grace period" of 6 months.  So, 6 months after graduation, you will be responsible for making regular loan payments.  There are some loans that work a bit differently, however.  The Perkins loan has a longer grace, which is 9 months, and this gives new grads a bit more time to find their footing in the real world.
